Environmental awareness
and protection

I, Leslie Nienaber, Director of Magna-Thomson International Movers (Pty) Ltd hereby declare to be involved in managing the company business in order to respect the environment and support packing materials management.

Environmental protection is a compulsory part of the continuous improvement process of the Magna-Thomson’s Quality system, which aims to satisfy our clients while respecting national laws and regulations on the environmental issue.Back to top

Recycling of paper products:

  • We support the Mondi recycle programme of “Paper Pick-up” carts and in doing so provide and income for the men who use them. Once the paper and cartons have been collected, the Mondi group does the sorting;
  • We also have the Mondi recycle bins placed in the offices, and make use of their training programme for cleaning staff;
  • Where possible, we purchase materials that are manufactured from recycled products;
  • We reduce the packing material scraps and debris;
  • We recycle packing material and printer/copy machine cartridges and dispose of all non-recyclable waste in a legally responsible manner.Back to top

The work environment:

  • We have greened our offices, to make for pleasant working conditions;
  • Our yard and gardens are kept neat and tidy, and where possible we plant indigenous plants;
  • We have strict procedures for the servicing and maintenance of all our motor vehicles, thereby ensuring efficient and clean running. We also ensure that the vehicles are not overloaded;
  • We reducing the level of gas emission by the regular maintenance of our vehicles (Trucks, Cars, Forklift).Back to top

Awareness:

We keep our employees aware of the environmental issues by:

  • Informing them on how to protect the environment;
  • Involving them into our environmental friendly process.
